Cystine Tryptic Agar was formulated by Vera . Many workers have used this medium for the cultivation of various fastidious microorganisms such as Neisseria, Streptococcus, Pasteurella, Brucella, Corynebacterium and Vibrio. Anaerobes were also capable of growth in this medium without the addition of anaerobic conditions. Mycoplasma could be cultivated with the addition of 5% yeast extract and rabbit serum. Cystine Tryptic Agar is a semi-solid medium used for the cultivation, maintenance, motility determination and fermentation reactions of bacteria. (Alpha Biosciences # C03-116-500gm)
