Mixed Cellulose Esters (MCE) membranes are a general purpose filter media used in many applications for the microbiological examination of water, wastewater, pharmaceuticals, food, and beverages and air monitoring. MCE membranes offer high recovery rates and superior flow rates. Black and Green membranes help to minimize eye fatique by providing a contrasting background for counting light colored particulates.
Contrasting grid lines facilitate counting colonies/particles and are tested to assure freedom from grid line inhibition. 3.1mm squares represent 1/100 of the filtration area of a 47mm diameter filter (9.6cm2). Non-sterile membranes are available bulk packed or as 10-pack autoclavable envelopes.
Advantec membranes were developed and are manufactured to comply with the ASTM and the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater. Membrane specifications and lot number are printed on each filter's envelope. Quality control tests are performed on each lot and QA Certificates are available.
